TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

We  are located in Manzanillo Costa Rica. It is a small beachside village located at the very southern most point of the country on the Caribbean side. To get here and start enjoying your vacation you will first need to fly into JUAN SANTAMARIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN SAN JOSE COSTA RICA. From there, you have many options for transport.

1. Rent a  car...This is the most expensive option but one that will enhance your experience giving you freedom to explore more places! This can be done online and pick up is arranged by most companies when you arrive at the airport. Most rental agencies are located within a mile of the airport.

2.Private transport from Airport to the front door here on the beach! This is a very poular option that many people choose for the simple reason that it takes the stress away after a long flight. We will be happy to arrange this option when we have your arrival dates. This option runs about $200 one way for up to 6 persons. We can also have a cooler of Ice Cold beer ready and waiting in the transport so you can start your vacation right away! Just tell us what you need and we will have your private driver accomodate you!

3. Taxi to bus. You can also take a taxi from the airport to the Los Caribeños Bus Terminal located in the northern area of San Jose. From there take the Bus To Puerto Viejo Talamanca and connect again to Manzanillo about 20 minutes by bus from Puerto Viejo. There is a direct bus that leaves daily at 12 noon from San Jose which terminates here in Manzanillo about 50 meters from the doorstep of the rental house. This is by far the cheapest option but also the most time consuming. 30 to 40 minutes taxi ride....Bus ride approximately 5 hours with one stop for bathroom facilities and snack. Approximately $25 to $30 dollars one way taxi, and $11 per person one way bus ticket if going direct to Manzanillo. Bus fare from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo, a little more than $1.
